# Enable staged ModSecurity rule changes

This function deploys staged changes to the ModSecurity™ configuration file and restarts
Apache.



If the new configuration is invalid, the system will restore the original configuration
and maintain the staged changes.



When you disable the
Web Server role,
the system  this function.

## Query parameters:

  - `config` (string, required)
    The ModSecurity configuration file's path and name, relative to the  directory.
    Example: "modsec_vendor_configs/example.conf"

## Response 200 fields (application/json):

  - `data` (object)

  - `metadata.command` (string)
    The method name called.
    Example: "modsec_deploy_rule_changes"

  - `metadata.reason` (string)
    The reason the API function failed when the  field is . This field may display a success message when a function succeeds.
    Example: "OK"
